A small journal about brown bears, trails and northern forests.
In late September bears spend most of the day feeding on berries and pine nuts, building fat reserves before winter. Tracks along the river banks get more frequent, and the forest gets quieter every week.
A brown bear front paw print is usually wider than it is long, with five toes set almost in a straight line and claw marks well ahead of the toes. Hind prints look surprisingly human.
